Default 2013 XC70 Jerks Forward after your Let off the Brake at a St

I have a 2013 XC70 and when you come to a stop at a light, and sit for a short time, then you release the brake and car seems to sit a bit, like the brakes are still on, then it jerks forward. It feels like someone has bumped into the back of you.

This is where I would start, your symptoms sound very Similar. The below is quoted from Clan who has a world of Volvo knowledge. Getting the box updated is where I would start. They also updated the software to stop the box going into neutral at standstill as this also caused this issue. A fluid change wouldn’t harm either if not done so previously but your symptoms sound like software.

The bumping into gear D or R is low gearbox oil pressure at idle as it leaks out of the mainshaft seals internally, volvo came out with software fixes then which raised the oil pressure, this fixed a lot of gearboxes with a minor leak . Have you got the latest gearbox software? The fix in about 2014 was modified piston ring type seals on the main-shaft which requires the gearbox to Come out and removal of the oil pump assembly behind the torque converter for cases where the software is not enough... The dealers know all about this.

I had similar with mine which turned out to neutral control being enabled.

One test to do is put the hand brake on and leave in drive with your foot off the brake, that keeps the box in drive and you shouldn't get any roll back when you press the accelerator.

If you still get roll back I would be looking at fluid change and TCM update, make sure the dealer or independent with Vida check the neutral control is deactivated
