I've been quoted £249 but that is only because I asked for a price match against Stratstone , maybe I should phone round a few places & see now as I'm not too sure at all on the price .

It wont harm in trying. I do notice that the further north you go, the cheaper it gets!

I thought the indi price was about £125?

My 940 TD used to cost about £156 but it's a lot more difficult as you need to drop the engine to get at it.

Personally, I wouldn't let them near another cam belt of mine.

whats the most likely price i would be able to get my local dealer to do a cambelt change on a 2006 185 d5?

i've been quoted c.£300 inc parts.

is it worth asking if they can do it £225/£250, and is there a particular time of year which is quieter and more likely to do a deal?
