Do you do a lot of town driving?

On full lock the wheels do tend to tuck in and scrub. Lots of full lock parking and manouvering will wreck the outer shoulders.

Beware. If you do a lot of town driving keep an eye on your DPF. A good blast now and again is required to keep it in check.

Yes - mostly town driving plus 5/6 long UK journeys so far. Accept all that turning will be wearing the rubber but surprised such a difference in wear rate..

As for the DPF the car died in the middle of a junction when my wife was driving with the kids. No warning light (other than when the recovery lorry started to winch it on backwards so not much use then). Dealer thought 'faulty connection'.

My Mrs loves to go from lock to lock without the car turning a wheel. I've tried to educate her but it's not worth the aggro. If you drive it as if it didn't have power steering (ie the way I was taught to drive - don't turn the steering wheel unless the wheels are rolling) then that alleviates much of the wear.

Maybe you will have better luck than me - take cover.
