Default DIY maintenance

I have a 2009 v70 d5 , looking for advice on things I can do at home to ensure it's running at its best , any easy access sensors worth cleaning ? Is the egr accessible and worth cleaning , anything along those lines , advice appreciated 👍also I'm.wanting to remove the cover around the electric seat buttons drivers side , can't see any type of fixings anywhere

See my topic and I did some stuff just to be sure.

There is 4-5 things

Egr, throttle body, intake manifold, injectors checking, alternator clutch, intake pressure cleaning etc

Hi Steve, you don’t mention the mileage but if it’s an auto then read up on the process for changing the gearbox fluid via multiple drain and fills.

Also I’d recommend picking up a diagnostic unit (Vida / dice) - a helpful chap on this forum sells them who many of us can recommend.

Some details and pics of lots of other common maintenance tasks on my thread here which might help.

EGR, Easy, worth it, Throttle butterfly, Same... Chances are, you will have a long era of black crud accumulated. Thankfully, it is solid, not like merc engines who have leaky turbo seals that turn the black crud to sludge.
Flaps if you are feeling clever.

I will let you know when I get my car back about the buttons.

Tks stu , its a 2009 with 170k , full main dealer history , had an auto Box flush in 2018 @.150k so hoping thats sufficient for a few more years / miles , yes I'd be interested in a vida setup, is that with laptop supplied or just the connecting device and software , tks

You need lap top with win7. I repayed VIDA like 5x until now.

All fluids you need to change. Go first with power steering fluid. Big diffrents
