Purchased my first Volvo (V40)
Hello all,
Just purchased my first Volvo and must say I'm very impressed so far. It's a 64plate V40 d2 1.6 in rebel blue. I've recently moved house for work and had to get a better car on fuel and looked for a while before waiting for a decent rebel blue advertised. My previous cars were an Astra gtc vxr and Mk2 Focus RS so it's a big change moving to this but other than being a bit gutless during overtakes I can't fault it. I've seen a few forums on the D2 1.6 engine breaking down etc and just thought I'd ask the experts if there is anything to look out for? Mine is sitting on 29k miles and has 4service stamps in the book so has been looked after by the previous owner. Also looking at a service plan at a Volvo dealer near me but the online quote was £670 for 2years which seems a bit steep! |

you will find a difference in performance compared to your previous cars, the V40 is more a cruiser than a driver's car, like most Volvos.
it does seem a bit steep for two services, have you checked what the cost is outwith a service plan? Iain
