XC60 (2014) drivers door lock replacement

I have a faulty lock on my XC60 drivers door and have sourced a replacement. I have all of the trim off ok but am now fighting with the internal metal panel that I need to take off. I have removed all the bolts around the edge and also the three fixings for the the window motor but still can’t remove the panel. I have taped the window in the up position since I!m not sure if it will fall. Also I think I need to disconnect the connector which goes from the door to the car between the hinges (just not sure whether it’s unplugged from inside the door or in the hinge area).

Any help appreciated.

This is no help I know but I am struggling with the same issue as I need to reattach the manual door lock button / stalk (which I knocked off when taking of the doot trim to fit a new door mirror!). I will keep searching and let you know if I find anything
