Personally, to keep the keys safe whilst in the house I wouldn't bother with these ridiculously expensive Faraday pouches. Radio hams have been using die-cast boxes for decades that provide RF shielding very effectively. They normally have a flanged lid so that they have no cracks through which RF can get in or out and are very cheap (£4 or so), come in an multitude of sizes and are readily available from places like Farnell CPC and RS Components.

For all you caravaners out there, stick them in the microwave at night while you are on your holidays.

Keep my keys in a tin. Also, use a steering wheel lock.

Why have keyless entry in the first place?
A recent advert on the TV “the car has all the things you want and nothing that you don’t want.” I beg to differ. My brother and I are of the same opinion that much of the “clever” stuff on modern cars is just unnecessary. It’s there because some geek invented it and thought that it was a good idea. eg. those “cornering lights” mounted in the front valance that light up when you turn the steering wheel and extinguish when you straighten up. They appear to be useless. I had “cornering lights” when I was rallying, two flat beam fog lamps mounted slightly lower than the headlights, angled sideways. The one on the right angled to the left and vice versa. |

I won't say to much to make it obvious but new volvo auto boxes are locked in park till something is done to release it. So even if its started its going nowhere.

I got a key pouch, set of 2, from Amazon for about £5.99. Supposed to be RFID, card blocking etc etc and easy to keep in the pocket without being bulky.
