Default Pin refuses to move.

1992 940.
I started this job with some trepidation, expecting the grub screw to refuse to loosen. It wound out without any bother. For the record the socket head is hex 4.
The pin is refusing to budge and access is rather difficult. I don’t want to have to drop the prop shaft if I can avoid it. I’ve doused it with releasing fluid and will leave it overnight.
Question: Where does the O ring fit relative to the bushes?
The only diagram that I have been able to find appears to show it on the right hand side of the right hand bush between the forks of the selector rod.
