Default Alternator freewheel pulley

Going to be changing my alternator freewheel pulley later in the week, when the bits arrive. Old one doesn’t look bad, but decided to change it with the belt and tensioners.

Anyone got any tips on how to get the alternator out, or if I can change it in situ?
I have a puller for the alt pulley.

Not with the car at the minute, so thought I’d ask one here. Will try and get the alt out, if I need to, this evening.

The pulley screws on , it has a left hand or right hand thread depending which way the Alternator rotates .

On some cars it can be done in situ - certainly the Mk1 XC90 as it has lots of room. Easy to check if you can get the removal tool in, once you've cracked it off you can undo it by hand.

Had chance to have a proper look after work. Not a chance of doing it in situ. More skinned knuckles worming it out 😂
