Whilst I couldn't possibly condone accidentally introducing an object to the windscreen I imagine it's the best theoretical course of action :-)

Ha ha, just don't do what my mate did and throw a brick at the screen...which then bounced back and dented the bonnet
I would find myself a nice round stone, hold against screen, sharp tap to stone with a hammer....if a crack appears...apply pressure to glass and watch it creep!
