Default 2008 V70 electrical issues.

Wonder if I may pick your collective brains re electrical issues on my V70?

The drivers window control pack suddenly stopped working, a second hand replacement was purchased but again dead as a door nail.

Is there anything obvious I can check which may be the root cause or any alternative way of testing these units. Out of interest I can close the windows using the key fob.

May be unrelated but both cigarette lighter sockets have stopped working now also.

Any help much appreciated 👍

Do you have heated seats, are they working? If the drivers seat is also not working, reggit had a similar issue with his V70 https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=306904

I haven’t checked those SeanC, I’ll pop out now and try them out.

Thanks for the advice 👍

Mine was 2x heater damper motors not working and the drivers heated seat not working. Fault was a dead LIN bus output on the climate module.

My car is reporting faults with all the windows, but they're working so I'm ignoring it for now (guessing I've snagged a cable for the OBD reporting when I had the door in bits, but don't really know how it works so that may be erroneous)

Rockeye - Do your windows work on the switches on the other doors?

Hi Reggit,

Yes they do work on all other doors from their respective switches.

I’ve looked at the harness on the door and manipulated it whilst operating the switch in case of a broken wire but still no joy.

I was wondering if there was another control unit for the drivers door, having the door in bits I can see that the wiring comes from a module on the aluminium panel behind the door card. Wondered if anyone knows what this is or had issues with it?

Haven’t manage to get the wiring out in the door opening yet as struggled to get the large Black connector off.

I’m looking at a 2010 wiring diagram that I used for my car, hoping yours will be similar.

The DDM is fused (25A) on position one of the upper of the three fuse boxes in the boot.

Have a look at that and check it in your handbook if you have one to be sure it’s the same.
