Default V70 brake noise/clang fixed

Over the past fortnight, my V70 developed a noise which sounded like the NSR brake. When off the brakes, it was an intermittent clang, much worse with the slightest of left on the steering wheel.

It was a quick fix, so sharing in case anyone experiences it.

I checked the rear on a jack, spun the wheel, then a good inspection of all brake parts with the wheel off and all suspension components. All good.

Same for the front. Just turning the wheel there was a clang from the disc splash panel. With the wheel off, the panel was just touching the inner edge of the disc at the lowest point. A quick bend of the splash panel, just 1-2mm and a wire brush to the disc edge has fixed it. So it was the NSF that was the problem, although I was convinced it was the rear by the noise!

I’m sure you could all work this out for yourselves, but it may be useful to someone a little less experienced in maintaining cars..
