Default Rear/front brake pads - wear sensor type or not?

Hi all,

I have 2009 Volvo 2.4 Diesel S40 (II) D5 R-Design (132KW/179 PS)

Just about to order some rear/front brake pads and noticed two options... with or without integrated wear sensor. Which one?

How do I tell?

None of the C30/S40II/V50/C70II cars have electronic wear sensors. They have a metal spring that starts to screech against the disk when worn to the extreme.

I understand dillema as I have seen similar "option" when researching pads for my T5 , i think I even saw alternative option on Vida (not sure if police version or not) but defo seen this. As ianmd said, our cars only have metal "screeching" pads so Im not sure what you can get if you order version with sensor - would be very surprised if it is an actual sensor+wire...

Go with "no sensor" ones, or check seller to show you both options to confirm.
