Default Dipped Beam failure - Xenon HID

Hi all, know there are several threads discussing this but many are old and about halogen lights so it's hard to work out my next steps.

I've just had this message after getting back from an MOT (failed for unrelated reasons, no issues with the bulbs at that point). The nearside/passenger dipped beam now doesn't work - offside works.

Could anyone suggest what troubleshooting steps I should take? I don't have a multimeter but I guess I could go buy one of needed.

Thank you

(This car's an absolute money pit!!)

Without any other info to go by I guess first thing is put new lamps in? Might as well replace the pair

Or.. swap them over and see if the fault follows the lamp (i.e lamp fault) or stays on the same side (I.e problem with wiring / ballast if applicable etc)
