Default Stalling XC90

We have a '55 plate XC90....and it has just developed an alarming problem.....it looses power all of a sudden, power steering goes completely and if we slow down whilst in drive the engine just stalls when the speed gets below around 10mph.....on the motorway it's not such a massive deal safety wise (as long as we're in the slow lane).....pull over with no power steering, come to a stop....on twisty country roads it's not the same, of course it's very dangerous....there is a red-triangle warning which reads something like "Engine System Service Required"

After waiting for a minute (possibly less) the car can be re-started with no apparent problem......no message is recorded and everything seems fine....however, after running for between 10 minutes and 30 minutes it happens again......

There is only one out-of-the-ordinary thing which has happened over the past couple of weeks.....I accidentally put some petrol into the tank, this was drained out by an AA contracted company on the forecourt and I did not start the engine, the tank was then brimmed with diesel....the first occurrance of the problem was more than a week after the incorrect fuel was added so I don't think it is related.

Any thoughts anyone?
