Default Car MoT history check

There was a classic car show near my sons place on Saturday so I took a look. One car stood out - as I wasn't sure what it was! I know some Eastern bloc cars and this was either a Moskovich, Lada or Yugo so photographed it and looked it up on the internet "check car MoT history" site.
Interesting - it was unknown to the guv website for MoT and tax checks. It had been reworked and fitted with a cross-flow Ford engine (exhibitor opened the bonnet) but the rest was stock. LHD small 4-door saloon with VERY wide wheels and a roofrack! So I still don't know what it was, but surely nobody would exhibit an iffy car would they?
So the question - is that gov website very late in updating, or as its an unusual-in-the-UK car do they lump 'em in one "oddities" compartment like when asking the 'howmanyleft' site how many PVs are in the country - which doesn't work.

Just checked my 740 on the dvla site, and they now have the mot testers name and address on . Goes back 10 years I think. However, the site does request an input of the number off your v5 to get this data.

theres plenty of sites regurgitating this data, some are free to use, oddly some recognise more vehicles than others.
As usual, I find the official offering the worst.

Default Car MOT history check.

Interesting Novomobile.

I know the MOT history enquiry did - for a short period of time only - show the name and address of the testing station, but this has now been 'Temporarily unavailable' for some time.

Would be interested in the exact enquiry access system you looked at.
Many thanks,
Austin.

Just goggle DVLA mot check.....click on check the mot history of a vehicle -gov uk...enter reg, see view test location....... follow instructions, you will need your v5 for the numbers they request...seems this is now back on line after being off for some time ..good luck

Presumably that only works if you are in possession of the V5 code.

If I, as Mr Noseyparker want to check up on my neighbour, I would be able to find the MOT status of his car but not the dodgy garage where he had it tested.

Hi Triple-S,

You couldn't put the pic of said Soviet Steel on here could you I'm partial to a bit myself (mask its number plate for security).

As for the MOT check site it could be as biggbn suggests an MOT exempt vehicle then again it could be a kit car with a private plate, a few years ago I tried to check how well or otherwise a Dutton Sierra was nailed together as I was looking at one on eBay the MOT check came up with the failed MOT of the S class Merc that used to have the private plate so problems can happen, sometimes a quick look on eurocarparts with its car reg input for model selection can come up with the goods.
