Diesel prming
I've got a 2003 1.9d Sport Lux but must admit to knowing little about diesel engines. I've done the oil and filter change but I want to change the fuel filter and although there are plenty of threads explaining how to do it I know that after a change it will need priming but I can't for the life in me find where exactly the primer is located. Anybody out there able to help?

looking at the fuel filter housing from the left wing its behind and below the fuel filter. its shaped similar to a rugby ball in a vertical orientation.

This is where it is. See Biotoxic's excellent guide here: http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=146544

It is secured by two brackets hooks (you can see the top one). You can gently remove it from the brackets and pump it a lot easier. When it gets nice and hard, you can secure it back in it's place and you are good to go

lol. Been there done that. However, a few weeks ago when Samwell came over to mine to service his car, I completely forgot about it and was also swearing about the stupid design, only to remember that I could take it off.....

lol. Make sure it has a long enough hose so you can wear the stethoscope while you are driving and listen to the engine......
