Has anyone ever shipped a pair of legs/springs with a courier before? I am trying to get a quote from a breaker for the whole lot (legs/springs/linkages etc), but I've been quoted £25 a side for legs/springs and trying to work out how much shipping costs would be. Cheers!

You can get a quarter pallet (normal pallet stacked 60cm high) moved for around £50, so it's not going to be any more than that. There's a company (Paisley Couriers) that does a set of tyres for £30, would think that's probably the level you'd be looking at.

Gatos is pretty decent . I've not been to a proper breakers yard in years, I tend to use eBay and the forum. Would be interested if anyone else knows of one, I don't think there are many that allow you to clamber over the cars any more.

haha, i get the impression Gatos owns at least two or three examples of everything ever produced for a Volvo! Ebay etc is good for the little bits i know fit and where they fit/how to fit them, but as i am utterly useless when it comes to anything mechanical/electrical i'm never confident that what i am looking at is actually what i need... or how i would go about sorting it once received! Hence my many questions in here and tendency to want to use a garage rather than doing it myself!
