road noise s40t4

hi guys is it just me or is this car a bit noisy inside -are all of them like this or is it maybe my tires ?

What tyres are you using? I used to have Pirelli P6000's at the back which made an annoying rumbling/warbling sound above 50mph - when I replaced them with Goodyear Eagle F1's the noise disappeared.

Apart from that, I'd say its about average for noise, not great but not bad either. One thing I noticed is you do hear a lot of clattering from the wheelarches if you drive over a surface with loose chippings etc...

Dunno can't hear much over the noise of the knackered exhaust or the stereo

- used to hear knocks and groans from the suspension but fixed that now hooray, onto the next fault.....

it still has the original tires which are 205-16-50r goodyear ncts -volvo tried to give me the continental sport contact which felt less noisy as my replacement according to my (swop from another s40 t4 )agreement with them on purchase of car -but they were the wrong profile -205-16 -55r looked abit funny and i wasnt keen on losing anymore performance -actually amazed that this car which is supposedly a luxury car having more roadnoise then my GOLF GTI MK3 that is was lowered
