You're choices are somewhat limited in that respect but I can fully understand your concern about any need for soldering, which is justified. Both the Superchips and Upsolute upgrades involve soldering. As far as I know, the Rica upgrade requires the same (I'm sure that either NatHLM or Hamish will confirm / clarify this). That leaves BSR and MTE. BSR offer a PPC for Phase 2 X40s but in recent weeks, there have been some issues in uploading their software which have led to "crashed" ECUs etc so just be aware that there are potential pit-falls there. MTE (www.kalmar-union.com) can either do an upgrade by re-flashing the entire ECU if you send it to them, or via the OBD2 port as they have on my car (and several other forum members' cars) and I am not aware of any reliability issues on the said cars thus far. I do also believe that the majority of high-horsepower T4s on this forum have MTE remaps on them.

Finally, I'd also give SW Autos (www.swautos.co.uk) a call to see what they can offer for your car as they do have a fair bit of experience with T4s and the director of the company (Stuart Williams) owns a mighty fast one!
