4-wheel alignment refused: rusted rear eccentric screws
Hello all,
As per title, I went to a local wheel alignment shop hoping to get the alignment done on my XC90. After setting everything up, the tester noted the rusted rear eccentric screws and explained that he could not proceed with the screws in such a condition for fear of breaking something that's potentially seized in the assembly. He advised replacing them before coming back for another go. Having checked VIDA, the part numbers appear to be: Eccentric screw 986931 Eccentric washer 31201493 Flange lock nut 985870 Does anybody have any experience replacing these items? Could it potentially be DIY'd? Or would some generous penetrating fluid and a wire brush be able to loosen it enough? Many thanks and stay safe. |
