Electronic speedo in old style 1979 inst. panel
Please could someone give a link or advise on this? Most of the stuff I find is USA or Australian.
I'm using a later M46 box, electronic pickup on the axle and most of a 1992 LH type wiring loom in the old 265.(230 turbo, not V6) The electronic speedo head has four female pins which go into the 92 PCB. How much needs swapping over?It physically is all in place, square face swapped nicely and even the early trip reset fits. Thanks, Jim |

https://forum.retro-rides.org/thread...5-owner?page=2 There's a much smarter looking rear plate doing the rounds somewhere... I used Dave Barton's website for instructions on dismantling and also bought a new face decal set - I believe he has been forced to stop producing those by Volvo |

Thank you., will check it out . I See the bit about a feed for the ECU at idle, are the other female pins usually unused? my electric speedo has 4 pins, its 1992, an earlier 1986 one i have has 3.
All a bit premature, the car is stuck at the sprayers and Im sorting bits here. Do appreciate your help, Jim Last edited by heckflosse; Apr 9th, 2020 at 15:25. |

I suppose Volvo can or can't or won't sort the decals themselves ..... Volvo should in my opinion be very glad someone is supporting these cars, and do a deal just acknowledging copyright. That is my opinion. . |

This is Dave Barton's site, absolutely invaluable and he will answer questions via email, or provide bespoke decal sets. https://www.240turbo.com/240gaugewiring.html I *think* the 4 pin plugs are ABS in which case you need a matching axle as the tone ring has 48 teeth vs the non-ABS 12. |

I've ordered the LED bulbs for the clock already and may well do the little mod for the instrument lights rheostat today (in fact I was thinking I could wire the jumper to a toggle switch so the instrument lights could either be set to full, or the rheostat used. Many thanks - really useful post. Alan |
