Spotted 240s - Page 8

Was motoring from Chorley to Coppull the other week in my red L-reg 240 SE estate, behind a brand new blue V-series estate, when I spotted another L-reg 240 SE estate (white with virgo alloys) which pulled out in front of him. This put him in the middle of a red, white and blue Volvo sandwich for about 3 miles. Don't think he noticed.

Just caught sight of a smart red GL in a pub carpark near ASDA in Hulme, Manchester this afternoon - will go past more slowly next time!

This car used to live three streets from me - not seen it around recently though. Took this photo at the art cars show in Manchester, September 2007. Hope it's a survivor...

There is a very nice darkblue 245/240 Estate living around the corner from us in Kerpen, Germany.

Looks like a 1990 model with the "new" rear window.

Speaking of artistic Volvos I remember when I was at Leeds uni about a decade ago there was a mustard yellow 244 with some of the doors painted like a desert scene (with a cactus and some other cool stuff).

The car lived in the Hyde Park area of Leeds and I used to cycle past it most days on the way to lectures. I wonder if this is still alive - anyone seen it?!

Half-past ten this morning on the road between Crewe and Middlewich, heading north past the Leighton hospital - a "G" reg silver 240GL saloon.

In the last two months I have done c. 3500 miles in my 240 GLT Estate travelling between London and Colchester and very rarely do I NOT see one!!

In the last few days I've seen a red Saloon and blue SE Estate in Hove, Yesterday I saw another red saloon joining the A23 from the M25 and a Silver GLT Saloon in Wallington Surrey. An attempt to wave was met by stony indifference from the elderly occupant of the car.
I had 7 in the car for my daughters birthday they all loved it much better than the bland 307 SW I used to own..
