Default Fuel cap - bits fell out the middle, does it matter?

Hey all,

When filling my car I noticed a spring, a small white circular cap and the circular thing with three holes in it fell out of the middle of inside of the fuel cap.

Do these pieces matter? I mean, should I spend time trying to put them back in place, or should I buy a replacement cap, or should I just leave it and get on with my life?

Thanks!
MJS

Sounds like the central sealing mechanism on the fuel cap.
I'd get it sorted in case it leads to fuel or fumes leaking out.

Yeah, I think you’re right. I ordered a replacement today, better to be safe.
