Has this cured your problem? I am having the same issue. Sooty plugs. Fuel Smell. Changed the PCV and Fuel filter. Plugs aren't great tbh. I have some smoke on start, slow to turn over and a bit lumpy. No fault codes on VOL FCR. I have disturbed the injectors and when I twist No.5 it changes in RPM.

I know the valves are ok as I had the inlet off to do the PCV and they were wet but it wasn't oil and the area around them is clean. If it was valve stems there would be oil deposits on the inlet.
