Yes done that.
Are not a great deal like my readings - my 0mm position is open circuit and my final 100mm position is about 350 ohms. There is a sudden drop in resistance in the last 20mm of movement |

I'd suggest you have the wrong sensor, that sounds like one for the earlier MSA15.7 system. What's the part No. of the one you've fitted?
You can look up the correct part No. in VADIS if you put your VIN in, the part is listed under the gearbox section. |

Will try and get the vid up for you later, my computer isn't playing ball.
Mine (15.7) doesn't make any odds in neutral when returning to idle with either/both brake and clutch pedal touched. It has a rock solid idle that doesn't judder at all, its probably the only diesel car I've ever driven that doesn't, most of them stutter at some stage, esp the newer VAG 4 cylinder diesels |

I'm pretty sure it's the right part number.
I checked it it vida before ordering and FRF checked too. I have fitted part no 9472979. Weird one isn't it! |

As you say weird, or maybe the sensor is faulty. |

I have had the same problem for some months. I have a manual 1998 V70 petrol 2.4 with less than 100,00 on the clock. Its had couple of bits replaced, can't recall exactly what they were as i don't do my own repairs any more, but nothing so far has worked.
I know the fuel filter has been replaced (not that i thought it was that!) and a sensor that fits sits below the top of the rad, plus another alloy thingy with tubes going into it (as you can see i am well into this mechanical stuff!). Anyhow, nothing so far has worked and my mechanic has drawn a blank so far. It ticks over fine, still does 33 to the gallon, but the revs are just so slow to come down once warmed up. My guess is it must be a sensor, but these cars have so many today its hard to know where to start. Garry |

Thought I'd post an update on this...
Problem is still there and every so often I think...I must get that sorted. But the car is still ok and gets around 40-45mpg so alls good in that respect. I've been thinking about what the real problem could be though. And I recently found out this car has a dual mass flywheel listed in vida. If this was breaking down and failing could this be the source of my issue. Other linked issues like feeling pulses through the clutch pedal and ticking noises (the noises I always out down to the vac pump) but now I'm not too sure. Has anyone has a dmf go bad on one of these tdis? It's done around 160k and I had no history when I bought it so I don't know if it's ever been done... Thanks. Martyn. |

My dmf has just over 200k on it and I ask a lot more of it than most.
Your return to idle could be many sensors really, as I've mentioned before probably crank position sensor. But it could also be a slightly sticky injector.
