Exhaust recirculation pipe discontinued?

Hi all,

First time poster, been reading forums for a few years now.

I've got a V40 52 reg diesel, and recently noticed a drop in power on hills and exceleration. Started during a trip back from Edingburgh to Swindon 2 weeks or so ago, until last week when it suddenly sounded like a tractor! Managed to get home (luckily I was local at time time) and now it's on the drive.

I know little about engines, so got a mobile mechanic to check it out. He said it was the pipe to for the exhaust recirculation that had broken one end, and wasn't an issue to replace, but when he contacted Volvo for the part, they said it was discontinued!

Does anyone know if this is true? If not, where can I get one or one that is compatible?

For information, I'm 95% certain it's the ribbed tube on this picture:

No part will be discontinued for a car less than 20yrs old. Manufacturers my change it for a different version tho.

Ring FRF Volvo in Swansea, they will give you the facts and help.

The Renault Laguna 1.9 dci has the same engine, uses the same egr setup if my memory is correct.
