Default D2 Drive D4162T low MPG

Hi everyone.

I'm having a low MPG with my V50, model 2011, with D2 Drive model (engine code D4162T). It has 108k miles on a clock with full service history and I'm the second owner.

I'm not using drive function (start/stop) at all, so I guess my MPG should be around 47MPG for city driving and let's say 62MPG for highways and open roads.
I have compared my car with friends S40 and another V50 (not drive models) and they both have MPG as I wroted (47 and 62). Well, not mine Volvo.
Mine has 38MPG for city driving and 44MPG for highways and open roads.

I've made a test run on a highway with friends S40. We both drove on cruise control set to 80mph (highway speed limit in Slovenia), side by side. His instant consumption was all the time 20MPG lower than mine.
So no doubt I'm having low MPG issue. I went to a Volvo service, they checked the car with tester and said it's fine, no errors. End of story.

Well not quite. I started to notice when I'm accelerating on a full throttle in higher gears (5th and 6th gear), engine has a glitch at about 3050-3100rpm like it would lose his power for a fraction of a second. First I thought it might be AC compressor, but it is not. Same thing when AC is OFF or even if whole ventilation system is OFF.
I started to assume it might be EGR fault, but I'm not sure. When I bought the car I drove it to an independent Volvo service where they said EGR is reacting a bit slow, but it's fine for a time.

Adding one plus one with low MPG, engine glitching on full acceleration at ~3100rpm and info at first service about slow EGR response. Could be EGR faulty party for my problems?
I have read topic Information regarding EGR related problems and solutions where Biotoxic is saying EGR might cause hesitation at traffic lights. Well some times my Volvo is not hesitating. It's driving like I would rode a donkey not a Volvo

Any thoughts about my EGR being faulty party assumption will be much appreciated.

Thanks for taking your time and reading through the end!
