Post Brexit Volvo Parts Supply
I wonder how our leaving the EU is going to affect parts availability from Volvo? At the moment if anything has to be ordered from Sweden it takes four days to arrive and I usual get the car back by the end of that day. Will we still get this level of service or will it mean we have to wait longer? I would imagine the cost of parts will increase I have no doubt.
I buy Volvo because of their level of service I get with the two dealers I use, I’m hoping that will not change. TT

I'm loving all these recent 'what about Brexit' threads!
Probably best to assume that everything will be so seriously fcuked up that we'll eventually have to go back to making the Allegro to ensure that we have cars for which we can also make the required spare parts.

After a couple of weeks, assuming the worst, I suspect the delay for Volvo parts will be no more than a day extra at most. Not worth changing car for.
Saying you did want to change, who too? Which mfr in the UK also has parts held in the UK at all times? Parts are made all over the EU and shipped in. They are all in the same boat.

You'd probably be surprised how many car parts go by airfreight, it still makes me wonder when I'm carrying airfreight and it includes some hefty bits of car.
There's a good chance prices will go up, even if it's not strictly justified by exchange rates and import duties, it will be a good opportunity for sellers to suck their teeth, rub their chin and mutter 'well, what with brexit sir, you know how it is....'. But then that is also the saving factor, if there's money to be made selling car parts I'm quite confident they'll work out how to get them here and quickly.

If we are reduced to having to re-manufacturing Allegro and Montego et al, I think a vintage Trabant will suddenly look appealing.
