Peering into tank via sender hole, it looks nasty, rusty, like the surface of the moon. There are two holes, repairable with that liquid steel stuff, i fancy.

But what about interior? Does one just fit a decent in-line filter an hope the tank will last me out? I saw on ebay a firm selling Tank Cure products, including a deruster, which you pour in an swill round. Anybody used it? Comments generally?

Good to know another 140 is being saved.

My late fathers '67 144S has been parked up in a shed for the past 38 years. He replaced the the twin carb B18 with what i believe was an Austin Cambridge B Series engine and g'box and ran it for a few years.

Ideally restore it to original at some time in the future but first would need a chainsaw and JCB to clear access to the shed to extract it. And of course, time, space and money.

Good luck with your 145 restoration.

Pity that wasn't said 38 years ago. B series transplant a downgrade, but interesting.
