Instrument display bulbs
Just come home from work and annoyingly one bulb on an otherwise perfect dash has blown, right on the far left behind the rev counter.
I had a feeling there was a guide for replacement somewhere but couldn't find it (though I've not trawled everywhere for it), could only find the one regarding the headlight switch cluster and climate control units which I'm familiar with. Are these reasonably easy to replace or should I just put up with it? Thanks in advance...

Just unscrew the instruments from the front and disconnect the plugs. The bulbs are normal twist bayonets. Can't remember if the column needs dropping, if so remove the trim panel below and undo the four bolts holding the column to the dash bracket, steering wheel will rest on the drivers seat.

Does look reasonably easy, thanks for confirming!
Same bulbs as the heater module, I've read on another site that the dash contains 28 of these bulbs which seems a lot, I'm assuming that includes the heater controls. Nice to see Volvo prices for these bulbs are still as eye watering as last time I had some

Have you tried giving the top of the dash a whack with the old "mark one toolkit?"
I ask because on my dash there are a couple of lights that, sometimes, stop working, and other times are perfectly ok. A swift thump seems to remind them to do the job they're meant to do. Might help.

And anyone who has driven any old Volvo buses like B10Ms or Olympians will also know this is the only way to fix gauges that suddenly stop working!
