Engine management light
Hi I’m looking for some help fixing my 2003 v40 2.0 automatic I have a code ECM-1C Rear heated oxygen sensor (H02S),preheating.signal missing.
I have replaced oxygen sensor still have the code, checked wiring to sensor from ecu no problem with connection. Voltage going to sensor heating is 5 volts disconnected connected voltage drops away. M.O.T due in a couple of weeks So not much time to fix ☹️ |

Are you sure that the 5 volt is for the heater part of the O2 sensor ?
Some of these models use a titania sensor which needs a 5 volt feed, as it does not produce it's own voltage like a zirconia sensor. The heater part of the sensor will most likely be 12 volt, but it may only need to be active for a few seconds to get it up to temperature, so unless your checking it when you first start up, you may not get any reading for it ? |

I don't know what was going on but I checked everything that gets a twelve volt feed on the same circuit and all was fine. The sensor I replaced it with was an aftermarket one was wired up wrongly so I sorted the pins into the correct position and hey presto all is good code removed with Vida 👍
