Default New to me 2002 xc

A few months ago I bout a 2002 xc70 cross country. 650 out the door with tags. Needed work. Sunroof had been bonded shut. 2 cracked side windows. And alot of other issues. So I replaced the entire sunroof assembly and now that works. Got new back door glass. Cleaned inside and out. Ran like trash and barely drove. Turns out had no coolant, oil and trans was 3quart low. So added oil and other fluids. This thing rips! But revs up before shifting from 1-2, 2-3, and 3-4. Not as bad since I filled the trans but still does it . Shifting manually does help some but not completely.

So what can i do to fix it? The gears all work good once they shift but it also goes into reverse hard and with a good 3-4 second delay.

So easy driving 1-2 shift is decent. 2-3 jumps 500 rpm. And 3-5 almost 1k

Make that around 1000-1500 between gears. But once it shifts they work great.

"Coolant and oil and transmission fluid was low" I'm paraphrasing.

For the coolant: Open the reservoir and sniff. You're checking for exhaust smell.

For the oil: It was low so it was likely nasty. All you did was dilute the grunge so change the oil now that you've driven it a bit.

For the trannie fluid: It was low so it's GUARANTEED nasty. Do drain and fills until it's fairly clean. Add a 10 oz. bottle of LubeGard (red bottle) to the clean fluid and see how much it improves things. You may be surprised.

Any leftover shift flaring may be addressed successfully by replacing the B4 Servo cover.

How many miles are on this XC? Best of luck with it.

214k. I'll be doing a full tune up. Adding used oil was just a temp thing because I didnt wanna waste new stuff and find out motor was trash.

I plan on a full tune up. Trans flush. B4 cover. Pads, rotors and calipers from a xc90. And a set of 225/65/16 a/t tires.

I would also like to do at least a 2inch lift. I work at a wrecking yard so have access to some good parts. But we only have a few volvos. And the only awd ones we have are two 2005 xc90s. I have read that if you swap the springs from a 90 to a 70 that they will raise it. But then on another page it says they dont fit. I'm confused. I just cant afford badswede springs.
