Hi guys, Ive sprayed it but still no joy ...it is shutting down but not locking on fully...the handle which you pull to open the bonnet is the only thing holding it shut.I have attached 2 photos to see if anybody can spot anything out of the ordinary? Also when I pull the bonnet lever to open the bonnet there is no movement on the catch it self....should there not be something moving when the bonnet release lever is pulled? cheers dave

As above, lots of lube required, if no movement or resistance when operating bonnet pull chances are the cable is siezed and if that is the case it will also stop the bonnet catch from operating resulting in the bonnet not locking.

I've had similar probs with my v40 on occassions. I have managed to remedy it by fannying around with the mechanism. It's not a lube job. Just work the mechanism with a lever like a screwdriver. It seems to be a very slight adjustment to fix. After working the mechanism between 5 to 10 times it usually works... Until the next time!
