xc60 R-Design losing power...& I'm losing patience

I bought a 2011 xc60 r-design back in Feb, had absolutely no problems with it and was excellent for driving over 100miles a day to work. 3 weeks ago I noticed it went into limp mode while dropping down to 2nd gear and the engine managment light came on. I researched it as well as i knew how (im not very car savvy) and was confidnet it was the AMF heat sensor, retured it to the dealer(Arnold Clark) who told me it wouldnt be a problem. Due to the part coming from Sweden i was told i would need to bring the car back in. I was told the AMF had been replaced as well as the DPF but on every road drive the car was still losing power in 2nd gear. I was then told it could be the EGR valve but that was soon ruled out before being told i had too much power going through the alternator causing the car to go in limp mode. When I called today to check on the progress i was told they still couldnt get to the bottom of it and it was going to main Volvo dealer.

Does anybody have any ideas what this could be as I'm very wary of Arnold Clark and getting fed up!

With respect....why don't you just take it to a Volvo dealer?

That is easier said then done.
For Aberdeen / Inverness there is only AC as the main dealer.

Was it bought from AC or other main dealer, with Volvo Selekt cover ? If so you should keep at them until it is fixed. You have until February 2016 - not so long - until your options and rights start to diminish.

Without a fault code read out its difficult to tell what it is,

Even with it at times it not always easy to trace
