Default Forward Proximity Sensors

A strange event. I left the car, a MY2012 D5 XC70, standing for nearly three weeks. When I returned and started the car the far right proximity sensor showed as registering the closest proximity with a red zone light and a continuous warning tone although the car wasn't near an object. When I drove the car the light went out and the warning tone stopped but when the car came to a standstill they reappeared. This continued until I deliberately pulled up close behind a stationary car at traffic lights and all the front zone warnings came on. When the car in front moved away they all went out and the fault has not yet reoccurred.

My question is this. Has anyone experienced this and if so did the fault return and how was it cured? I have just over a month left on the Volvo after-market warranty and would want any faults fixed before it expires but if there is no fault to show, this would not actually get anything done. If the fault is not likely to reappear, I'll leave it but if others have experienced it returning I will argue my case with the main Volvo dealer.

I have a faulty sensor on the rear of my car, sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. VIDA will tell you if there's a fault but as the car has been standing it can happen that dirt around the sensor or wiring can trigger erroneous messages and make the sensors pick up imaginary objects. It sounds like a one off to me

Have just ordered a VIDA/DICE and will check out the fault log when I have the kit up and running. Thanks for the advice.
