Default Sway bars

Does anyone know if something similar to the american IPD sway bars are available in europe? among other heavy things that ipd offers- the minilite replica wheels, weber carb kit and lowered springs..

Are you looking for front or rear ARB, or both?

I have a KG rear bar surplus which I'd be happy to sell you. But, I have to say that the fitting isn't ideal; hence the reason I adapted a 7/900 rear ARB for my 164 (information from page 13 onwards in my project thread):

Cheers

Both. I just bought the car from an old dandy and am slowly going through it in my spare time to see what needs replacing. It is my first volvo. The car's in good nik and drives fine if not a bit, oxfam shoppy, like the smell of the upholstery, wet spongy. the brakes are new and so is the exhaust. I find a black stromberg behind a russian coalminers lung, AWFUL fuel economy and oil all over the spark plug side. It sounds as if the exhaust manifold has a crack in it, like a cheap air compressor en route.
What I want is a nice drive with reliable, responsive mechanics. So i'm thinking, 1 weber DGV, headers, lowered springs, billstein shocks, sway bars. like that i change whats broken and 'update' the car in the process. I bought it cheap so I can treat myself right?
voila.

Sounds good. Post some pictures up!!

Thought of B20E + megasquirt injection? And you'll want an overdrive box if you don't have one already

here she is, in a field...

i'm torn between going ground up or inside out for the mods. feeling the road seems as important as getting along it. For starters the breakerless ignition is in the mail and the basic tune up has been done but she still a hell of a racket. Its seems to be a pinging, wheezing from the carb with a sort of "put put put put put". it's rather annoying. what do you reckon? I do have a question though, can the factory alloys from the 240 be mounted straight onto the 140? we'll see. jakob

Default volvo 144

Hi there I have owning such a volvo 144 (Sahara-yellow) for aprox. 13 years. The main mod I made was power steering from the 164. Rest was original with hardly any rust.
Have been running LPG all the time and never gave any problems except the starter which I once replaced with a unit from the 740/940. I can advise this starter to everybbbody. The B20 starts much easier..

Is your with the nice brown cotton interior and perhaps with overdrive?

They sure can! I use 15" Virgos from a GLT.

hello there,

no there's no overdrive unfortunatly, nor injectors...,

but there are ashtrays for both rear occpants with dogends still in them!!!

I dont know if this is 'sahara yellow' or 'mustard' or even 'baby poo' but it's quite debonaire, not 'fast' but certainly not 'sensible' either. The interior has futuristic looks but feels (and smells) it's age. The kids love it - no seatbelts and an armrest. The straps under the front seats are gone and i'm wondering if a tightly strung bicycle innertube would be a good replacement.

Are the 'Virgos' the thick 5 pointed stars? They look good on the 140...

anyway, a friend who dropped his TR3 said that the ride was too hard afterward. Has anyone dropped their 140/160 and driven on country lanes? Would replacing the bushings and the shocks for bilstein be enough to 'wake up' the ride.
question questions...
