I'm fairly certain that my Dad's old 164 had twin Strombergs on it. I will ask him when I next speak to him.

Hi Sean
Paul has asked me to send this to you:
(Can you ask him (from me) that I could courier
the carbs, manifold and linkage to him later this week/early next week if
he's interested. Mention the 30kg couriers limit (the manifold is VERY
heavy) and I would need to strip the linkage from my spares-car if he wants.
Addresses need to be swapped, and I'd like it all back when done with - can
be dropped off at Redhill after Wimbledon if you like. I'd like the
injection bits in exchange please, as I need them for my current car.
Foggyjames can have the trim etc, as I'm OK on that. Let me know if
interested.)

Foggy James has told him about this carrier who seems to come from Surrey. I expect you will know what he means?

Audrey, that sounds absolutely fine to me. Could you get Paul to give me a call please or send me his number, as I only have the internet on my phone and it takes ages to reply on here! Txt or e-mail is just as easy though as I can access my e-mails as work.

Does anyone know if the downpipes on my injection car will fit onto the carb'd manifold??

If all Paul wants is the injection parts, I guess the rest is up for grabs!

Once I've made contact with Paul, the car will be stripped on Friday

Hi Sean, I finally got back home! I don't think what I have will be much good to you (see pics). Looks like twin strombergs on a four potter.

Best of luck

Scott

Hi Scott, although what you have would have been ideal - its 2 cylinders too short!
Thank you very much for remembering to look out for me, I do appreciate it!

I have arranged a set of everything I need with Paul (Audrey) and in return he is having the full injection system and anything else that is useable from the car.

Foggy James - I will take the side trim off next and any that I don't mess up I will give to Paul to pass on to you at a club event?

Thank you to everyone for your help :-)

Remember me if you have any shells to get rid of!

Very much appriciated Sean. I think they're attached via a series of clips...so levering them off very carefully might be an option. I also have a memory that they will slide off backwards / forwards. Next time I'm up at the unit, I'll work out which ones on my car are AOK, then you can use those as a test-bed on your car...just in case something goes wrong with the first one.

I'll have a chat with Paul regarding beer money for you.

cheers

James

I managed to get them all off without causing any further damage to them, some are better than others but I'll just take them all up to Paul

Foggy! There aren't any 340 enthusiasts in Cornwall likely to have a 1.4 model they'd be looking to get rid of cheap is there . . .

I know a guy down that way who's into 300s. I don't know if he has any cars for sale, but he does have lots of bits and bobs. Is it for racing?

cheers

James
