Default Random Non starting

I have a problem:- every now & again my V50 D5 won't fire up.
I've noticed it happens randomly on a "hot" start ie, engine will fire up fine from cold but when stopped & then trying to start again.

Eventually, it will fire up but it's very frustrating! Any ideas??

Seen a few posts on cleaning the throttle body for the 2.0D.
How easy is it to clean on a D5 2.4?

It won't be the throttle flap on your car mate as its an electric throttle unlike the small diesel engines I would get the codes read first as it is more than likely it will point to where the fault lies!

I cleaned mine on my 2.0D and still have an intermittent start issue. Could be anything from a dodgy glow plug or bad injector.... Before I start going mad and buying this and that I'm going to get mine terracleaned and go from there. If its something ignition side then a terraclean will sort it out.

Alright mate, I always start up with clutch depressed as a matter of course.

I'm thinking maybe it's fuel temp/pressure related. Haven't got a code reader but going to put some Forte diesel treatment through the fuel to see if it cleans the system.

surging and idle things.

Might invest in a cheap code reader to see if there is any fault codes.
Problem happens when engine is warm- after say 10 mins parked up.

does key not need a good battery to give a signal to car?

they are electronic and not mechanical ......

try using your spare mate.
