Default C70 (2007) anti skid service required

Hi, I'm new to the forums but can anyone help with a problem I have.

My car is a Nov 2007 Volvo C70 2.4 D5 Auto. It has done 33500 miles from new and is regularly serviced & maintained by the large Volvo Dealership from where it was purchased. The tyres are a year old and new pads fitted all round a year ago

A short while ago a message appeared 'Anti Skid Service Required'. Following the handbook instructions I took it immediately to the dealer. As it is due a service in a day or so they said they would look at it at that time. They did intimate that an ABS sensor could be on the 'blink'. This of course may be an expensive repair.

For a lower mileage car that has never been driven hard (80ml/hr max) or on rough ground I find it odd that such a fault should develop.

Does anyone know if this is a common fault or indeed if it is uncommon. If uncommon is there a case to make a complaint to Volvo. How much should it cost to rectify?

I really would appreciate some guidance. I bought the Volvo as I wanted a quality car that would last me a few years into retirement. I have had loads of higher mileage cars in the past (inc. various Company cars) and have never seen this fault before so I am a bit disappointed with the Volvo to say the least.

Many thanks.
