I bought mine from Parts for Volvos and they were good quality. I also replaced the springs and top mounts at the same time which will probably be overkill for you but the transformation was instant, no more bangs, knocks or rattles.

And did you change the drop links?
They're the smallest part of the job and have to be disconnected before the struts can come out anyway.
They die anywhere from 45K to 60K. Their wear out is guaranteed. Kira

If that's aimed at me then yes, as you say it's a very easy job to replace them.

Hi just had a quote to replace front shocks £400 + vat for standard monroe's
or £650 + vat for auto leveling monroe's depending what i have fitted at the moment i cannot find out what type i have got. rear shocks ar £250 + vat.
what do you think of the quote. also my drop links have been replaced at 65k. In the hayes manual it shows how to test shocks by how many times each corner bounces cannot hardly move mine I get about 1/4 inch movement.

Regular Monroe seems to sell around £130 for a pair, so £250 for four on Ebay.
£900-£250=£650 that seems expensive for the labor

The original shocks on Volvo will still bounce fine at high miles, but they have lost the capacity to absorb quickly and smoothly street imperfections.
