Default noise and slight vibration on front

hi everyone ,I posted a couple of weeks ago about my 53 plate s60 d5 manual, about what I thought was front bearing noise ,,like a tube train,i replaced both front wheel bearings a while ago, noise still there ,so I took the plunge and got a new offside drive shaft ,thinking it must be the bearing ,anyway it was not that ,on travelling in the car as a passenger I could feel vibration under my feet [first time as passenger] on closer inspection found there was considerable movement going into the gearbox on the near side drive shaft.i suspect diff bearing ,which was then confirmed by a mechanic .my question is ,is it much of a job for a decent diy guy like my self to do on the drive way, although at my age ,don't really fancy the challenge,i also noticed when its cold I sometimes get clutch judder ,its on 153 k,on the original clutch ,so im trying to way up ,if its worth the new clutch and bearing,.i love the car ,which I bought 18 months ago ,at well below its market value at the timeŁ1,100.00.from what I read a clutch even at my local garage will be around the 800 mark, then the bearing fitted, any thoughts thankyou

Hello, Never did a diff bearing. Removing the engine and transmission to do a clutch job will make the diff bearing a 'nothing' job.

I say fix it.

The "value" of a car is calculated more than one way. You have a car you bought cheap. You love the car. Fix it.

Finding a replacement car which you love which has a new clutch and diff bearing(s) will be VERY, VERY EXPENSIVE.

Is this one of those "Dual Mass Flywheels"? Kira
