Default whistling noise

First of all please bear with me, i'm not that good at describing things, thanks. The other day my car (S80 D5) developed a whistling sound on accelleration, like air blowing or being sucked in, on investigation i found that to the right of the turbo there is a rubber pipe with another piece of pipe that T's off upwards and that bit had come out of the T juntion. So i put the pipe back down into the bigger pipe and all is fine. The question i would like answering is, Is that pipe supposed to be a loose fit, which i suspect it is'nt, or has it broken and is supposed to be one sealed piece? Also if anyone can figure out what i'm talking about here, do you know what that pipe is called so i can get a replacement if needed. Thank you for reading.

You are probably looking at the crankcase breather hose. It should have a hose clip to secure it. Maybe the inlet pipe was replaced and someone didn't bother with a new clip as they are not easily reusable.

Go and see Jason at Bridgend Independent Volvo if you stuck.
