Default XC90 drivers seat side panel removal

I have a 2011 XC90 Exec. Can anyone tell me how to remove and replace the drivers seat side panel that holds the switches for the memory and massage controls. My Manual is not very helpful. it just says remove the panel, but how?

Hi, Both of mine are cracked, how long do they last? is it worth changing them? or should I just do them when I decide to sell the car?

they last indefinitely as long as you don't sit on them every time you get in the car :-) You could strengthen them with some fibreglass on the inside ..

I replaced mine recently. The link below shows you everything you need to know, should only take about 5 minutes.

Mine was replaced a year ago. It had lasted 8 years.
The new one has now broken.
I suspect poorer quality manufacturing in the new one - thinner or cheaper plastic.
Or maybe I'm just too heavy

+1

Mine developed a hairline crack and I removed it and massively reinforced it from the inside with glassfibre matting .

It's never budged since.
