Default Removing front bumper & brackets

Hi
I want to take the front bumper and it brackets off of my 1970 144, it has the old style front panel.

It looks like it's 2 large bolts each side. But I see that the brake line brackets are held with the same bolts. I'd rather not undo the pipes, so question is:-

Are the brake line brackets welded to the bumper brackets or just held tight by them?

Thanks for any advice

HI
No you can remove bolts whilst leaving brake lines in situ.

thanks to you both

I'll actually be driving it round for a week or two with no bumper or brackets as want to blast the brackets and re-paint etc.

so it's okay to reconnect the brake bracket on it's own?? probably will need some washers to make up the gauge of the bumper bracket?

thanks

That was alot easier than I thought it would be. A little awkward getting to the bolts, three quarter open spanner and lots of small turns, but came apart fine.

However, don't attempt to separate the rubber from the aluminium - the bolts cease and I sheared the first two off, so gave up. I stupidly forgot the whole steel to ali nightmare.....
