Default Go all in on cleaning

I too purchased an 04 XC90 with an absolutely terrible interior. I ended up taking everything out of the interior - seats, center console, carpets, headliner, A B C pillars, etc and then disinfected, recovered the headliner and the pillars, steam cleaned rear carpets, bought new front carpets, reupholstered the driver seat bottom, and put it back together. It is a world of difference and really was not that difficult. Knowing what I know now I could easily disassemble in a day.

Eapowers64,

If I lived a tad nearer I might take you up on the offer ;-) Columbia?

It's had the worst done, which enables us to drive it without wanting to visit the shower on each return. It's a silver with black heated leather and silver inlays rather than the wooden stuff.

Just done a 350 mile trip and the car ran well suggesting around 42mpg - I know the computers on these cars are optimistic, but still.

So nearly a week in of ownership and no drama.

Ah well there's always next week...;-)

Unfortunately the tyres haven’t really been tested in the snow in the past 2 years probably had 2 inches of snow where I live and they coped well no issues at all.
I would expect as they are all terrain tyres with a similar tread appearance to winter tyres they they would be a good middle ground between summer/sports tyres and full on winter tyres.
If you really do live in the sticks like I used to and can get 4-6inches of snow every winter maybe a second set of alloys with winter tyres?
Obviously that massively ups the £££!

Would you mind explaining that a little more? I'd love to do that to my drivers seat and haven't found a lot of information in forums or on youtube.

I found a commercial seating company near me which refreshed bus seats.
They reupholstered my seat for reasonable money.
You may have to remove/deliver/pick-up the seat.
Allow time at shut-down then disconnect the battery before removing the seat.
