Volvos don't need heated windscreens they are a marketing tool .

Had the same thoughts when i was looking at my XC60, after driving a car with the HUD i thought it was brilliant so HUD every day. If its cold and frosty there's always remote start

Can you please expand on that statement as I was led to believe none of the current range have PTC Heaters ? ?

Thanks.

After ten years with a heated screen that I never really needed as it had a FBH which we could remotely warm the vehicle up in a morning, now having HUD which I am impressed with. I can still warm it up if need be from the APP when required.

I have the HUD, it came as standard. Threw me the other day as I couldn't read it. Then realised the sunglasses my daughter gave me are polarised, so filtered out the display

Heated windscreen all day long. Have had HUD on loan cars and found them really distracting - a real gimmick. The heated windscreen is brilliant if car not garaged every night - get going quickly in the morning or if lots of people get into car at same time and fog up screen. No brainer.

I have a heated windscreen in my transit and can’t figure out what all the fuss is about TBH.

exactly , a volvo has never needed one it's just a Marketing "thing" ... It already has an electric element in the heating system for quick warm air .

Once had an Alfa Giulietta as a loaner for a few days. My previous gen XC90 3.2 had a failed generator.

That Alfa was terrible. It was -15C outside and snowing. Almost impossible to keep the windscreen clear. And I'm not talking about frost in the morning. Even after driving the car for 30 min, it still couldn't keep the windscreen clear.

Never had any problems in Volvos or actually I any other car except that Alfa. With VoC there really is no need for a heated windscreen.
For me HUD is something that I really like. So it was an easy decision.
