Default Memory Mirrors?

Hi all, just a quickie for you......

My 'new to me' V50 handbook states that the side mirrors remember their position along with the seats.
However, whilst the seat memory functions perfectly on both keys, the mirrors do NOT remember their positions.
Is it me doing something wrong or......?

Cheers all.

2006 Volvo V50 SE Everything else works fine.

Hi

As I recall on my Missus'is C30 (which is pretty much the same front end and switches as your V50) when you have got them in the position you want them you need to hold the Mem button and the number memory setting button you wish to use for about 10 seconds.

I found sometimes it took several attempts before it took.

Best way I found was to get them how you wanted then press Mem first on the side of the seat and keep your finger on the button and then still holding that button down press 1,2 or 3 which ever button you have decided to use and hold firmly for about 10 seconds.

Now deliberately move the mirrors out of position but DONT touch the seat setting buttons again or memory (we're doing this just to see if it's worked)

Fold your mirrors flat.

Switch off the ignition and remove key.

Switch ignition back on and open your door mirrors

Now select your memory button choice and the mirrors should move to the position you set along with the seat.

If you have 2 keys there is also a CANBUS option I believe to set them up more sophisticated which makes the mirrors set and the seat set to your chosen position when you fob the car open and open the door.(you can also use this to make the mirrors open as you fob car open.)

If 2 of you share the car with separate keys it will remember setting's via your key fob and be setting up as you get in. (this was available on My04 V70 so i am assuming same goes for the v50)

Sorry I cant advise on CANBUS settings on here but others like Clan or Tannaton or Cheshired5 may be able to help.

Hope this helps

XCO, that canbus setting to fold the mirrors back out, are talking about enabling it in the software via VIDA?

Hi sorry can't find thread now but recall seeing it discussed on here several years ago admin may be able to point to it.
It discussed extra settings achievable in canbus.
