Mich Latitude Alpin LA2s here- super happy with them. They are slightly pricier than Nokians but super quiet an will outlast most of the competitors.

You can run 22 and 19, for me personally a set of 19s would be a preferred choice. That said I am an engineer so tend to see things more functionally rather than form.
The car came with 22", bought from dealer as ex management car, so what it came with was what it came with. The 22" were almost a reason not to buy but the deal on a 4 month old car with 33% off list was too good. So I could just switch to 19" permanently when these tyres are done and sell the 22" rims.

Not a gangsta and not PCP. Also engineer and if I wanted function over form I would have bought a Toyota. I keep cars for 10+ years and tend to hit 200K + hence buy nearly new for cash.

Never noticed the ride difference although the 19" wallow a little on comfort air. 22" on dynamic are somewhat rigid.

Yeah I probably look a bit of a tit but got to do something with no logic is occasionally allowed I think.

Anyway for the aesthetics amongst you make a choice!

The systems are indirect so no TPMS sensors required or are XC90s direct?

Early XC90s are direct, later ones indirect. Iirc, the changeover was for MY2017 cars onwards.

So. Update.

I have ordered the Continental Winter Contact TS850P from Savoy tyres in Scunthorpe.

235.55.19 105V. So exactly equivalent to my existing summer tyres.

I have agreed at 180 quid a corner which matches the mytyre price so happy with that.

Bought the TPMS kit from Volvo for 184 quid.

Having them fitted on Monday but wont put them on the car for a couple of weeks. Dealer said that TPMS sensors will need coding to the car which I hadn't realised to will have to sort that when I fit them in a few weeks time.

I use Nankang SV2's and they are brilliant. Our road trip last christmas to the italian mountains saw us drive through 30cm - 40cm of powder snow with ease and no chains. Only needed chains when it was thick ice under snow. Absolutely brillitant and about to put them back on.

I’ve been offered a set of four R design winter wheels with the Nokian WR4 SUV tyres at a really tempting price from a Volvo dealer up in the north west...what do people think about the Nokian WR4 SUV tyres and as I have never previously owned a second set of tyres what do people recommend for changing the wheels? Do it yourself? take it to the Volvo dealer? or to a tyre centre?

Any advice welcome,

AnotherV60
