Unhappy help with body trim 850 T5

hi, can any one help me??? i have an '96 850 T5 but the bit of body trim on the front wing just in front of drivers door has come off and one of the plastic rivets has broken so i was going to replace the rivets but cant work out how to remove them from the trim, i have pushed pulled and prised but no luck!! failing that does anyone have that peice of trim with good rivets going cheap!! i have searched the web for info on rivets or trim but no luck. i would be very gratefull for any help

Hi,

if you mean the dark plastic rubbing strips (I think they're called) then I believe they do pop off the piece of trim but they're on tight.

I think the 'catch' on the back of the rivet slides forwards in the hole in the metal of the wing to release them from that.

OK, just looked at VADIS and the clip that holds on the trim is part number 6806505. Its different to the clips that hold the door trims on. Have a word with Rufe - he'll be able to get you some.

Smile help with body trim

hi, just a quick one to thank you both for your help, i have now got it sorted out they do prise off (took a bit of force though!!!) and the clips cost a grand sum of £1.78 (the pair!) so thats a result. many thanks
